What do I have to do to maintain my countertops?

  • Granite & Marble must be sealed once a year.
  • Solid Surface, Engineered Stone (Quartz), and Laminate are all non porous and do not need maintenance.
  • Butcher Block must be oiled.
  • Paperstone should be sealed.

Can I put hot pots on my countertops?

  • All tops should be protected with a trivet or hot plate.
  • Granite could have the seal ruined by hot pots.

Can I cut on my countertops?

  • Always use a cutting board or you will ruin your knives.

What are the guarantees / warranties?

  • Countertops By Starian guarantees all of our work for 1 year.
  • Manufacturers warranty their products for 10 - 15 years depending on the product. 
  • Granite and Marble are natural products and have no warranty.

How long will I be without my countertops?

  • Most of the time we can template over existing tops. We remove old tops when we install the new tops.

Can I have an integral bowl and back splash? (seamless)

  • Solid surface tops can have a seamless bowl and back splash.
  • Quartz and stone tops will have an under mounted bowl and a back splash that is attached with silicone.

 Do you perform repairs?

  • We are Dupont certified to repair chips, cracks and  seams.
  • We enlarge cook top cut outs as well as shorten cut outs in Solid Surface.
  • We can repair chips and nicks in Natural Stone as well as Quartz.

  • We enlarge cook top cut out and stove spaces in Granite and Quartz.

Can you match or coordinate my Tile color in Solid Surface?

  • Yes, we have over 200 Corian colors in remnant pieces that can be used for sills, thresholds, wall caps, saddles and door jambs.
